City seeks bids for landscapers
It may still be winter but that hasn’t slowed the city of Painesville from planning ahead.
It is currently mowing down candidates to serve as its contracted landscaping company.
The successful bidder will be tasked to cut unruly grass and vegetation on previously-cited properties. They are accepting bids from qualified companies to perform mowing duties from spring through November of this year.
Those interested in submitting a bid must do so by March 13 by noon. Only sealed envelopes which read “city mowing proposal” will be reviewed. They must be hand delivered or
mailed to Community Development Department, City of Painesville, 66 Mentor Ave., Painesville, OH 44077.
This follows an initial pre-bid meeting held Feb. 6.
All interested parties must be compliant with the withholding of state and local income taxes and keep detailed records of all hours worked and all duties performed. This includes confirming listed addresses through the Lake County Auditor’s website and maintaining detailed work logs and photographic evidence throughout their tasks.
Painesville is asking applicants to include quotes for properties, a valid certificate of coverage through the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation, the total number of crew members, equipment inventory, three government of corporate references, as well as proof of liability insurance of at least $100,000.
The city references that prospective bidder and their crew can expect to mow anywhere from 250 to 450 lawns within their season, weather permitting, based on their last five years of records.
A mowing bid packet and a daily mowing log, in which contractors will need to file during their city-contracted work. A full list of requirements can be found on the city’s website.
