Expert advises on helping kids cope with coronaviru­s concerns

With the coronaviru­s dominating the news, parents may want to keep a closer eye on their children’s time online in the coming weeks.

Operating under a statemanda­ted policy that prohibits sitdown dining, area restaurant­s are devising systems which will allow their customers to order meals on a carryout basis.

Some are trying to keep their servers employed by processing and packaging orders, assigning them to serve customers in their cars or delivering orders to their homes or places of employment.

Geauga SWCD grant available to teachers

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservati­on District announced it is now offering grants for the 2020-21 school year to increase awareness, knowledge and appreciati­on of agricultur­e in the youth of Geauga County.

The $1,000 grant will be awarded to kindergart­en through 12th grade core education teachers, according to a news release. It will be for teachers whose innovative classroom projects use agricultur­al concepts to teach reading, writing, math, nutrition, science and/or social studies as well as to encourage a partnershi­p between the Geauga lot of hours for (them) to get drawn into the social media posts and news storm related to the virus,” she said. “This is especially hard on children and teens already prone to anxiety or worry.
