Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers remains open during outbreak

During the uncertain times created by the novel coronaviru­s COVID-19, those struggling with addiction continue to need care.

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers remains open as an essential service as defined by the state of Ohio.

Those struggling with addiction or want to refer someone struggling can call Lake-Geauga for an immediate appoint, the agency stated in a news release.

“(W)e are open and taking proactive steps to keep our clients and staff safe while serving the needs of our community by continuing to clean and sanitize our facilities and encourage staff, clients, and guests to follow appropriat­e personal CDC health practices to minimize the community spread of any illness or disease, including COVID-19,” the news release stated.

In an effort to stop the spread of the virus, face-toface individual and group counseling at all outpatient offices is suspended. These services are now provided via video therapy or by phone, according to the release.

While Lake-Geauga is still accepting new clients and referrals to outpatient or residentia­l treatment services, walk-in intakes are also temporaril­y suspended. All intakes can be completed by phone or video from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday by calling 440-255-0678 to connect with an intake counselor.

All appointmen­ts with the nurse practition­ers for Medicaid Assisted Treatment w ill continue as scheduled at the Mentor outpatient office, as well those for new clients. With the expectatio­n of appointmen­ts with the nurse practition­er, no on-site appointmen­ts will be conducted at this time, the release stated.
