Carriage House Inn breaks ground
Tall Oaks event barn still on target for March 1 opening
Another major piece of the Tall Oaks event complex in Kirtland is officially underway.
A ceremonial groundbreaking was held recently for the Carriage House Inn, at 9199 Chillicothe Road. The 5,000-square-foot inn is intended to complement the 11,000-plus-squarefoot event barn with 3,000 square feet of covered porches on 14 wooded acres.
“Despite COVID-19, we are on track for a March 1 opening of the Barn and we have commenced construction on our 13-suite deluxe inn,” developer Tom Christopher said.
“We expect to have the inn complete and operational by early to midsummer, assuming no unnecessary delays from the city,” he added. “More importantly, all work on both assets is being done to the highest standards of excellence. It is what our guests deserve and expect.”
The facility now has 77 events booked and another 143 in the pipeline.
“Contracts are coming from all over Ohio and surrounding states,” Christopher said. “We are truly blessed.”
Along with onsite overnight accommodations, the family-owned and -operated
facility will offer a private chef with a customizable catering menu and various ceremony settings.
Christopher has estimated that the facility will generate $7 million to $10 million of direct business annually with another $4 million to $7 million for local businesses.
A 200-person wedding could range from $10,000 to $40,000, he said. The barn can accommodate about 350 people.
The property would be open to the public for holiday events, such as brunches on Easter and Mother’s Day.
It also will be available for corporate events, including business meetings and Christmas parties.
