Restaurant­s, clubs are fish fry options

Here are some non-church fish fries to consider. Many restaurant­s also have Lenten season fish specials during March.

Rustic Grill at StoneWater offers fish fries from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays until April 2 for both lunch and dinner. Dine-in, carry-out and touchless curbside pickup options are available, as are igloo reservatio­ns. Choices include beer-battered cod with Cajun wedge fries, tartar sauce and choice of chopped kale Caesar salad or house vinegar slaw for $16 or breaded Lake Erie perch sliders with house slaw and garlic aioli with Cajun wedge fries for $15. The restaurant, at 1 Club Drive in Highland Heights, also will have a weekly fish special and its regular menu. Call 440-461-4653 to order.

Betts, the restaurant at the Kimpton Schofield Hotel, at East Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, has a gluten-free fish fry available on Fridays through April 2. A gluten-free battered Alaskan Cod, with Old Bay Fries, choice of Creamy Slaw or Kale Caesar Salad is $16. A weekly Chef’s Catch Special will also be available, along with a full dinner menu. Guests can dine in, carry out or eat in a greenhouse. Reserve at 216-357-2680.

Willoughby-Cleveland Elks Lodge #18, at 38860 Mentor Ave, Willoughby, offers dine-in for members only. All others can order carry-out dinners, which include breaded, beer-battered or pan-fried walleye at $14; breaded or beer-battered perch at $11 for three pieces and $14 for four pieces; seafood cakes — a mixture of crab, shrimp and scallops — at $11 for two cakes and $14 for three cakes; eight piece shrimp dinners for $9; or a combo of two pieces of perch and four shrimp for $11. Dinners all include soup, biscuit and choice of potato or mac and cheese. A steak dinner with soup, vegetable and choice of potato also is available for $14. VFW Post 1500 at 38295 Pelton Road, Willoughby offers dine in or carry-out from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays through April 2. Choose between salmon, catfish, pollock, shrimp, perch and walleye dinners. Phone: 440-9519235.

Irish American Club East Side at 22770 Lake Shore Blvd., Euclid, offers both dine-in and carry-out from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays through April 2. Choices include a fried or baked fish dinner, $12; fried shrimp dinner, $13; fish sandwich and fries, $8; and kids’ meals, (grilled cheese or chicken nuggets), $6.
