Lake County to hold vaccine ‘mega-POD’ clinics
Lake County will hold its first two “mega-POD” novel coronavirus vaccine clinics March 31 and April 7 with future clinics being scheduled.
According to the Lake County General Health District, about 5,000 people will receive the COVID-19 vaccine during the March 31 clinic at Mentor High School.
The health district is holding the COVID-19 megaPoint of Dispensing (POD) in conjunction with the Lake County Fire Chiefs’ Association, Lake County Emergency Management Agency, Lake County Commissioners’ Office and Lake County Mayors/City Managers, Cleveland Clinic, Lake Health, and University Hospitals.
As of the 11:42 a.m. March 30 news release from the health district, all spots at the March 31 clinic are filled, but there are 3,000 open appointments for the April 7 clinic at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland.
Future clinics at Lakeland are also in the process of being scheduled, according to the news release. New appointments will open every Monday.
To register for the April 7 POD clinic, use the ArmorVax scheduling system.
Those without email addresses and/or needing assistance making appointments can call 440350-2684 on Mondays and Tuesdays, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Lake County General Health District’s Health Commissioner Ron Graham said “our main priority is to safely vaccinate as many individuals in Lake County
who want it, so we can get back to our families, our school, and to work.”
County Commissioner John Hamercheck said in a statement he is pleased to see so many agencies “coming together to serve the needs of the Lake County community.”
