Fisher award watch list

The Tony Fisher Award goes to The News-Herald player of the year in football. It is named after the former Ohio Mr. Football recipient, a graduate of Euclid, who went on to star at Notre Dame and play in the NFL. The Fisher Award watch list can and will change on a weekly basis.

This week’s watch list, in alphabetic­al order, is:

Ryan Baer, North, Sr.: Graded out 89% in the Rangers’ 38-7 loss to South. For the season, the 6-foot-7, 320-pounder has 21 pancake blocks.

Derell Bedingfiel­d, Benedictin­e, Sr.: The Bengals did not have a game in Week 5. For the season, he has a team-leading 35tackles, two sacks and three TFLs. He has also scored a pair of touchdowns. Brandon Boyd, Benedictin­e, Jr.: The Bengals did not have a game in Week 5. For the season, he has 19catches for 378 yards and four touchdowns. Rick Coleman Jr., Harvey, Sr.: Ran for 28 yards and a touchdown, threw for 57 yards and returned a kick 99yards for a touchdown in the Red Raiders’ 27-21loss to Cardinal. For the season, he has thrown for 325 yards and three touchdowns, run for 404 yards and eight touchdowns, and also leads the team in return yards.

Jaxon French, Lake Catholic, Sr.: Threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns in the Cougars’ 27-20loss to Kenston. For the season, he has thrown for 875 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Nikko Georgiou, Kenston, Jr.: Was injured and did not play in the Bombers’ 27-20 win over Lake Catholic. For the season, he has thrown for 557 yards and five touchdowns and run for 119yards and four scores. JP Germano, Kenston, Sr.: Carried 35times for 215yards and a two touchdowns in the Bombers’ 27-20win over Lake Catholic. For the season, he has run for 551 yards and four touchdowns, caught 11passes for 143yards and two touchdowns, and thrown for 87 yards and two scores.

Alex Henry, Chardon, Jr.:

Ran for 86 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 49yards and a score, in the Hilltopper­s’ 41-7win over Mayfield. For the season, he has run for 390 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Dominic Johnson, Hawken, Jr.: For the season, he has run for 722 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also catching 10 passes for 153yards.

Andy Kavcic, Gilmour, So.: The Lancers did not have a game in Week 5. For the season, he has run for 370 yards and four touchdowns and thrown for 386 and six touchdowns.

Colin Quinlan, South, Jr.:

Completed 12of 13passes for 181yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 59yards and a score, in the Rebels’ 38-7 win over North. For the season, he has thrown for 780 yards and eight touchdowns, while rushing for 444yards and four scores.

Terrence Robinson II, Hawken:

For the season, he has thrown for 632 yards and nine touchdowns and run for 365yards. He has scored six touchdowns running with two two-point conversion­s. Tanelle Rose, Brush, So.: Carried three times for 38yards in the Arcs’ 34-0win over Akron North. For the season, he has run for 803 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Mason Rus, Kirtland, Sr.: Carried 14times for 192yards and three touchdowns in the Hornets’ 37-7 win over Geneva. For the season, he has run for 580 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has 32tackles and six TFLs.

Tyrone Singleton, South, Jr.: Carried eight times for 127 yards and three touchdowns in the Rebels’ 38-7 win over North. For the season, he has run for 444yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Gage Sullivan, Kirtland, Sr.: Caught two passes for 23 yards and scored on a 32-yard run in the Hornets’ 37-7win over Geneva. For the season, he has caught 15passes for 310 yards and six touchdowns and carried four times for 80 yards and two scores. He also has 16tackles and four pass breakups.

Danny Stewart, West Geauga, Sr.: Threw a touchdown and ran for a touchdown in the Wolverines’ 50-13win over Edgewood. For the season, he has thrown for 637 yards and seven touchdowns.

Ceejay Yarboro, Benedictin­e, Sr.: The Bengals did not have a game in Week 5. For the season, he has thrown for 780 yards and nine intercepti­ons. He has also scored twice with a two-point conversion.
