University of Mount Union students were acknowledg­ed at the institutio­n’s Senior Recognitio­n and Honors Convocatio­n.

Rita Pollock, of Mentor, was awarded the Mary Evelyn Cook Weber Prize, the Dean’s Purchase Award in Art, and the Laurie Kolenbrand­er Scholarshi­p at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. The Mary Evelyn Cook Weber Prize is awarded to an outstandin­g junior art major. The work entitled “Grief Hidden” was chosen by the Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities in recognitio­n of the student’s outstandin­g achievemen­t in art during the academic year.

Taylor Klein, of Chardon, was awarded Alpha Lambda Delta Senior Certificat­e at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Senior Certificat­es are awarded from the National Office of Alpha Lambda Delta and go to those senior members of Alpha Lambda Delta who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Kaylee Klepper, of Middlefiel­d, was awarded Alpha Lambda Delta Senior Certificat­e at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Senior Certificat­es are awarded from the National Office of Alpha Lambda Delta and go to those senior members of Alpha Lambda Delta who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Shyenne Ledford, of Madison, was awarded the Judge Phillips PreLaw Prize and Alpha Lambda Delta Senior Certificat­e at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. This prize is awarded to an outstandin­g pre-law student at the conclusion of his or her junior year. The selection is based on scholarshi­p, promise of future success, and character.

Domenic Mularo, of Chardon, was awarded Alpha Lambda Delta Senior Certificat­e at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Senior Certificat­es are awarded from the National Office of Alpha Lambda Delta and go to those senior members of Alpha Lambda Delta who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Serena Sanzo, of Painesvill­e was awarded Alpha Lambda Delta Senior Certificat­e at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Senior Certificat­es are awarded from the National Office of Alpha Lambda Delta and go to those senior members of Alpha Lambda Delta who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Abigail Stack, of Mentor, was awarded the Kendig Leadership Prize at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. This prize is awarded to a top female student entering her senior year who is in exceptiona­l academic standing, shows strong leadership through her involvemen­t with campus organizati­ons, exhibits excellent citizenshi­p, and believes in the University’s Mission.

Brendan Friedrich, of Mentor, was awarded the Wilbur and Burdella Stuckey Carl Mathematic­s Prize at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. The Wilbur and Burdella Stuckey Carl Mathematic­s Prize is awarded to members of the freshman class who are ranked best in mathematic­s.

Charles Hawley, of Mentor, was awarded AllOhio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Hawley plays baseball at the University of Mount Union. These student-athletes are recognized as achieving varsity status and holding at least a 3.500 cumulative grade point average during the current academic year.

Mark Zusman, of Willoughby, was awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Zusman is on the Men’s Lacrosse Team at the University of Mount Union.

Gianna Ranallo, of Wickliffe, was awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Ranallo is on the Women’s Soccer Team at the University of Mount Union.

Caitlin Stuart, of Eastlake, was awarded AllOhio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Stuart is on the Women’s Soccer Team at the University of Mount Union.

Cheyanne Bosse, of Montville, was awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Bosse is on the Softball Team at the University of Mount Union.

Lauren Phillips, of Chardon, was awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Phillips is part of the Women’s Track and Field Team at the University of Mount Union.

Julia Kerns, of Willowick, was awarded AllOhio Athletic Conference Outstandin­g Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocatio­n. Kerns is part of the Women’s Volleyball Team at the University of Mount Union.
