THOMAS PATRICK CARNEY

THOMAS PATRICK CARNEY, age 69, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on April 26, 2022. Beloved husband of 46 years to Mary (nee Rank); dearest father of Katie Feeney (John) and Betsy Reed (Chris); loving grandfather of Jack, Will, and Ben; devoted son of Mary and the late Thomas Carney; dear brother of Timothy (Laurie), Mark, Richard (Renee McDonnell), Christopher (Terry) and the late Kevin Carney.

Tom was always quick with a joke and smile. He was the life of the party, never met a stranger, and he would give you the shirt off his back, quite literally.

Tom grew up in South Euclid and was a proud alum of Cathedral Latin School. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton and Cleveland State University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degrees in both Business Administration and English. He retired from GMX (a division of the Garland Company) where he worked for over 30 years, most recently as their Senior Vice President.

He married his college sweetheart, Mary Rank, in 1975. They shared a beautiful life together in Euclid and Concord OH, where they raised their two daughters. Tom and Mary enjoyed traveling, frequent date nights and spending time with their family, friends and neighbors. Tom was a diehard Cleveland sports fan, always enjoyed a nice walk or hike, and it was rare to find him without a good book.

Funeral Mass Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Concord Township. (Please meet at the church.) Interment private, All Souls Cemetery, Chardon. The family will receive friends at the Schulte
