Age 85, of Mentor passed away May 10, 2022. Born June 13, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to Albert Edward and Mildred Isobel (nee: Loveland), graduated from Collinwood High School in 1954 and went onto receive her B.S. and Master’s Degree in Education from Kent State University where she was also a proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

On December 21, 1963, Carol married Richard “Dick” William Barbe in Euclid, Ohio and began their family in Richmond Heights. Together they owned and operated Euclid Precision Grinding for 30 years. They moved to Chardon in 1977 with their children, where she was an active member of Pilgrim Christian Church and Sweet Adelines. In 1992, Carol and Dick retired to Tellico

Village in Loudon Tennessee, where they spent 17 years, travelling and “cruising” the world together. They returned to Northeast Ohio where they spent their final years. Throughout her life Carol thoroughly enjoyed knitting, sewing, handcrafts and was a member of garden clubs in both Ohio and Tennessee and The Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her son Eric (Lisa) Barbe of Willoughby, Ohio; daughter, Vanessa Barbe of Science Hill, Kentucky; “AFS son”, Clarens Jung of Kiel, Germany; and grandchild­ren, Emilio Citriglia of Lexington, Kentucky and Orion Citriglia of Science Hill, Kentucky. She was preceded by her parents and her husband.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediatel­y follow at Sager Memorial Cemetery, Bristolvil­le, Ohio. In lieu of donations, please send flowers!
