Vincent D. Galyas, 86, of Mayfield Hts., formerly of Madison and Euclid, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born July 22, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Vincent and Myrtle Galyas.

Vince was a proud veteran of the Ohio National Guard. He retired from the City of Euclid in 1998. In his retirement, he volunteere­d with Madison Meals on Wheels, was an active member of PERI Chapter 28, and enjoyed the company of many good friends.

Vince was an avid fan of football at every level and never gave up rooting for the Browns. He was very devoted to his wife and family; he loved and cared for them fiercely. He was the biggest cheerleade­r and supporter of everything his kids and grandkids did. Survivors include his loving children, Paula (Tom) Ray and Dave Galyas; cherished grandchild­ren, Carissa (Wrion Bowling) Ray, Colin (Heidi) Ray, and Dr. Elizabeth Galyas; adored great-grandson, Grady Ray; sister, Sue (Jack deceased) Schirmer; and nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Preceding Vince in death are his beloved wife of 60 years, Pauline M. Galyas; and dear sister, Barbara (Donald) Repasky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Ss. Robert and William Catholic Church, 367 E 260th St., Euclid, OH 44132.

A private family burial will take place in All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
