Humane Society unveils event lineup

Lake Humane Society has announced the slate of performanc­es for its 12th annual Rescue Rock Off which will take place 4 to 9 p.m., July 23, at the Mentor Civic Amphitheat­er.

Rescue Rock Off is a fundraisin­g event hosted by the Humane Society benefittin­g the homeless animals of Lake County.

The event will feature an evening full of live performanc­es by local bands, food from food truck vendors, a raffle with an assortment of amazing prizes, 50/50 drawing with two chances to win hundreds of dollars and more, according to a news release.

The entire family is welcome to attend including well-behaved dogs for a donation at the door, the release stated. All dogs who attend the event will be entered to win a dog-themed raffle basket.

Bands that will be performing include:

• Kevin Conaway — a singer/songwriter from Cleveland who will be performing for the VIPs at the event.

• The Soul Men — a Blues Brothers tribute band.

• Dan McCoy & the Standing 8’s — McCoy has been bringing his brand of Heartland-Alt. CountryRoc­k to the masses since 1988, picking up the Cleveland Scene Magazine Music Award for best Americana/ Country band in 2010.

• Superbad — specialize­s in all genres of cover music ranging from pop, rock, country, while encompassi­ng the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and today.

• Invincible — a Pat Benatar tribute band led by Michelle McDowell and Lee Silvis.

Tickets for Rescue Rock Off can be purchased online at lakehumane.org and at the door on the day of the event for an additional $5. There are various ticketing levels at this year’s event with prices ranging from $10 to $80.

VIP All- Access passes for $80 are also available. These include early entry into the event, private seating in front of main stage, private VIP Lounge access complete with private appetizers and cash bar and 10 raffle tickets, the release stated. Must be at least 21 and limited number of VIP passes are available.

All proceeds will go directly toward helping to save the lives of the homeless animals who call Lake Humane Society their temporary home, the release stated.
