Mass of Christian Burial for David J. Sasek, Sr., age 83, of Wickliffe and formerly of Beaverdale, PA, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. David passed away peacefully August 14, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born on May 11, 1940 in Ruthford, PA to the late Joseph and Helen (nee Halgash).

David was a U.S. Navy veteran who served on the destroyer USS Henley 762. He served as a supervisor for AGA Gas and retired after 38 years of service.

David was a longtime parishione­r of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. In his younger days, he loved riding and working on motorcycle­s, going to the casino, watching western movies and shows, taking his boys to Beaverdale, PA to teach them how to ride dirt bikes, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchild­ren whom he loved dearly, and he had a beautiful sense of humor by making people laugh at his stories.

David was the beloved husband of 60 years to Nora (nee Tavernini); loving son-in-law of the late Gisella Tavernini; loving father of Paul (Sue), Kelley Giselle (William) Salerno and of the late David, Jr.; devoted grandfathe­r of Nico Rosario and Giana Gabrielle Salerno and great grandfathe­r to his great granddog Dugan; dear brother of Mark and Larry Sasek of Beaverdale, PA; dear brother-in-law of Nancy (Ron, deceased) Sherbine; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at The Orlando-DonsantePr­evite Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, on Wednesday, August 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Private Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
