Students from the area were among over 680 students who earned scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. Over 430 named scholarships provide more than $4.7 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. In addition, they carry on the donors’ legacies through the lives of the students who receive their support. The scholarships vary in requirements, with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.
The following local students earned scholarships:
Gabi Barbins of Mentor, a graduate of Mentor High School majoring in adolescent and young adult education, earned the Eleanore Miller Gillig Scholarship, the Joan McCollister Male Scholarship and the Milton & Mary Oakes Scholarship.
Adam Bauerle of Mentor), a graduate of Mentor High School majoring in adolescent and young adult education and English integrated language arts, earned the Ted & Irene Theodore Scholarship.
Trent Bucy of Eastlake, a graduate of North High School majoring in business administration, earned the GAR Foundation Scholarship and the Harry & Marcelle Marks Scholarship.
Anna Buhrow of Cleveland, a graduate of Beaumont School majoring in digital marketing and marketing, earned the Jess & Arline Petty Scholarship.
Emily Carlson of Orwell, a graduate of Grand Valley High School majoring in music education, earned the E.S. & M.R. Griffiths Scholarship.
Nick Clark of Willowick, a graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School majoring in sport management, earned the Doris Currier Scholarship.
Hayley Conley of Painesville, a graduate of Riverside High School majoring in music education and instrumental performance, earned the E.S. & M.R. Griffiths Scholarship and the Vince and Laurene Young Scholarship.
Eric Coode of Concord Township, a graduate of Mentor High School majoring in accounting and finance, earned the Bipin C. Shah Explorations Scholarship.
Mallory Dondorfer of Concord Township, a graduate of Mentor High School majoring in early childhood education, earned the Isabel Marting Scholarship.
