Edward F. Muzic, also known as “Big Ed” passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023, at the age of 88 years old at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 15, 1935 to the late Frank and Grace Muzic. Edward will be deeply missed by his loved ones, including family, friends, and even those who got the opportunit­y to meet him just once. He graduated from Collinwood High School in 1953. Throughout high school, Ed enjoyed playing his bass in a Polka band. He showcased his musical talent through singing, playing the accordion and playing the bass. Then he entered into service as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He made us all proud though he never knew how to swim! After serving in the military, he joined I.B.E.W. Local 38, which he was a proud member of, for 62 years as an electricia­n. On May 19, 1956, he married Ellen Mackey Muzic at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Cleveland. Ed and Ellen had the pleasure of spending 67 years of marriage together this past May. Ed was a huge supporter of his family member’s extra-curricular activities and sporting events. He enjoyed his annual vacation with his wife and friends to Myrtle Beach. Most importantl­y, he showed kindness and love to anyone he met. He is survived by his wife Ellen Muzic; sister, Grace Parks; sons, Michael (Missy) Muzic, Patrick Muzic (Frank Reed); daughter, Kathy (Michael) Kelly; grandchild­ren, Samantha (Joshua) Weaver, Michael (Alexandra) Muzic, and Mary Kelly (Corey McHugh); and great grandchild­ren, Emilie and Owen Weaver. Additional­ly, sisters and brothersin-law, Doris Burrington and Ruth (Donald) Rositano, and many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers-inlaw, Harry Burrington and James Parks. Cremation services will be provided by Brickman Bros. Funeral Home and interment at All Souls Cemetery. To respect family wishes, services will be private. A celebratio­n of life will be at a later date.
