Van Pelt joins Patriots
Fired Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt has been hired for the same job with the Patriots. The move gives first-time head coach Jerod Mayo an experienced voice on offense. Mayo is a former linebacker and linebackers coach.

The Commanders have an agreement with Dan Quinn to hire him as coach, two people with knowledge of the move tell The Associated Press. Quinn has been the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator for the past three seasons.
