The Clark Kellogg Award is presented annually to The News-Herald’s boys basketball player of the year. The winner will be announced after the completion of the state tournament on a date to be announced.

This list can fluctuate throughout the season. Candidates are listed in alphabetic­al order.

G/F Luke Barbo, Jr., Geneva:

Leads the way for the Eagles in scoring (14.1) as well as being a force on the boards (6.0).

G Justin Belcher, Sr., University: Leads the Preppers in points (17.6) and steals (3.1) while second in assists (3.6) and rebounds (5.1).

SG Matt Biddell, Sr., Mentor:

Can play both inside and out, as he averages 26.6 points per game with 41 3-pointers along with averaging 7.5 rebounds. Leads the Cardinals with six assists.

G Peyton Budrys-Rini, Sr., Lake Catholic: Paces the offense for the Cougars with 15.4 points per game while also averaging 5.1 rebounds.

G Taj Caver, Sr., Hawken:

Surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his career and guided the Hawks to at least a share of the CVC-Chagrin title. Leads the team with 15 points per game along with 32 3-pointers.

G/F Damari Dammons, Jr., Brush:

Contribute­s to the game in a multitude of ways for the Arcs as he averages 9.3 points per game to go along with 4.8 rebounds.

G Troy Domen, Sr., Cardinal: A leader on both ends of the floor. Averages 24.1 points per game with 53 3’s to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 3.5steals.

G JP Dragas, Sr., Madison: Making an impact for the Blue Streaks in every phase of the game. Averages 27.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2assists and 4.6 steals per game.

G Evan Dugger, Sr., NDCL: The leading scorer for the

Lions as he averages 17.9 points per game with 54 3-pointers.

G/F Thai Duncan, Jr., Euclid: A threat with the ball in his hands and can score at any level. Averages 19.5 points per game.

F James Gadomski, Sr., Fairport: Does it all for the Skippers as he leads the team in points (25.9), assists (4.8), and steals (3.7). Second on the team in rebounds (8.2) and blocks (1.9).

G Armani Hall, So., Harvey:

Continues to be a leader for the Red Raiders as he averages 15.5 points with 54 3-pointers. Also able to crash the glass as he averages 4.7 rebounds.

F Ian Ioppolo, Sr., Mentor: Leads the Cardinals in points (26.6) and rebounds (8.7).

G Dorian Jones, Jr., Richmond Heights: Affects the game at every level. Just as strong beyond the arc as he is on the drive.

G Quinn Kwasniak, Jr., Cornerston­e: Leads the area in scoring with 34 points per game and 94 3’s. Also makes an impact inside with 9.5 rebounds and with the ball in his hands with 7.1assists.

G Landon Lear, Jr., West Geauga:

The Wolverines leading scorer is averaging 20.4 points per game and has made 33 3’s. Also second on the team in rebounds (6.5) and third in assists (3.1).

F/C Sean Register, Sr., North:

Averages a double-double — 30.3 points per game and 11.3 rebounds. Also averaging 3.8 assists and two blocks a game.

G Demarris Winters, Jr., Richmond Heights:

A strong shooter for the Spartans. With his ability from beyond the arc, can keep the Spartans in any contest.

G Quandell Wright, Sr., VASJ:

The leader of a young Vikings, can do a little bit of everything. Averages 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9assists and 2 steals.
