See “Tecumseh” and Meet Annie Oakley! Remember when our childhood included innocent and playful games of ‘Cowboys & Indians’?... Me, too! For those always asking about “new” short tours, here’s a really entertaining one for you! While we won’t be doing any cattle rustlin’, riding in covered wagons, or seeing any sheriff’s posses ride by (at least I don’t THINK we will – ha!), we WILL step back into an era where history made its mark establishing settlements, fighting for land rights, and cheering each other on to expand America westward. Come with us on this journey for an inside look at what it’s like to pioneer a new nation, and how Ohio played a significant role in that! Here are some highlights... ** “TECUMSEH” – The outdoor drama of the legendary Shawnee leader is labeled as one of the most mesmerizing dramas in the nation. Held under the stars, the spectacle surrounds you with live horses, cannons, and a dazzling battle sequence! (Performed rain or shine – only cx’d if dangerous weather conditions) ** Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the ‘Tecumseh’ theatre complex where cast members serve as your tour guides! The stuntmen give a dazzling display of stage-combat and flintlock firing. Learn how they recreate historical battles right in front of your eyes! ** Mule-Drawn Canal Boat Experience – Travel back to the 1870’s aboard the ‘Volunteer’, an authentic 60-ft. canal boat as you pass thru an original lock and view a working canal-era sawmill. ** Meet ‘Annie Oakley’ who will reminisce about her journey from a humble background to becoming a celebrated sharpshooter and female symbol of American West’s resilience and skill! ** Guided tour of Ft. Meigs along the Maumee River, and a visit to Ft. Ancient with its preserved earthworks. ** ‘Dig up the past’ with a Ranger at the Hopewell National Historical Park. ** A special visit to “The Wilds”! An extraordinary wildlife experience exploring this vast, open-range habitat that’s now home to rare and endangered species from around the globe ~ So fun! ** The National Road & Zane Grey Museum offers fascinating American transportation history - discover Mr. Grey’s unique contributions to it all. ** What a wonderful ending... A visit to the Dickenson Cattle Company is always delightful as we’re given a tour of ranch life showcasing the care of their herds of cattle, and then topped off with a delicious dinner from the ranch’s own high-quality, grass-fed beef served in a rustic setting that captures the spirit of the American West!
