-

August 12-16 * Picturesque Waterfront Vacationing

Lake Michigan is one of the 5 Great Lakes of North America. It is the 2nd-largest by volume and the 3rd-largest in surface area. The bottom of Lake Michigan looks like a sandy beach with rocks and shells mixed in. The water is clear, and you can see the bottom! This contributes heavily to why the western shores of Michigan have been nicknamed “America’s Third Coast” and offer opportunity for a relaxing coastal getaway lined with charming beach towns begging to be explored. We’ve been to many of them before and LOVE them! So here’s a tour we’ve created featuring the ‘best of the best’ following the northwest lakefront. ~ Away we go to Petoskey, MI where we’ll spend our first night at the historic Perry Hotel perched on a high bluff with gorgeous views of the water * Local guided touring in Petoskey to include historic Bay View, Petoskey State Park, the scenic Petoskey waterfront & marina, and a stop at Bear River to walk over the bridge for a breathtaking view! * Free time in downtown Petoskey - check out the General Store! * In Boyne City, visit the Lavendar Hill Farm for a Guided Tour – try the lavender shortbread cookies & fizzy lavender lemonade * One night in Harbor Springs at the European-style Boyne Highlands Resort * Spend an evening at the Young Americans Dinner Theater which has been enchanting audiences since 1978 – our folks LOVE this event! * In picturesque Charlevoix, explore the downtown and also take a special tour of the Earl Young’s Mushroom Houses – they are so unique... have your cameras ready! * On to Traverse City with time to get lunch * A surprising and enjoyable visit will be the Music House Museum, a one-of-a-kind collection of rare antique musical instruments and machines dating from 18701930 * Sail away on an evening cruise aboard the Tall Ship “Manitou” - a replica of an 1800’s cargo schooner, similar to those that sailed the Great Lakes & Atlantic Ocean – what a thrill! * Overnight at Bayshore Resort, a Victorian-style hotel nestled on the beach of West Grand Traverse Bay * At Silver Lake, hop aboard a dune buggy and be whisked away on a safe, fun-filled 7-mile Dune Tour ride as knowledgeable drivers share the history of the constantly changing sand mountains – What an exciting, scenic experience! * On to Holland for our overnight and a special Farewell Dinner Cruise aboard the “Holland Princess” – this lovely 2-hour event sails around Lakes Macatawa and Michigan to put the perfect ending to this picture-perfect vacation * 4B, 4D * $1,885 p/p, double occ * $1,745 p/p, triple or quad occ * $2,345 single
