On Deck: For the record:

The Vikings are accustomed to close games in their run to the regional round. After their triple-overtime thriller against Alliance, the Vikings raced to a firsthalf lead against CVCA but fell behind by five late. A five-point play including two technical free throws and an Antonio Brown put-back helped VASJ earn its first regional trip since 2019. VASJ has a quartet of strong scorers, led by Quandell Wright at 16.3 points per game. Brown and Braylen Daniels control the boards, Sean Shenker is the sharp shooter of the group, and Jeremiah Martin runs the offense. All five players can impact the game and can take over when needed. … Ursuline had a back-andforth battle with NDCL for three quarters before pulling ahead in the fourth by controlling the tempo. The Irish are led by seniors Geno Lucente and Jayden Payne, who combined for 40of their 61points in the district final. The Irish are also strong on the boards with 23against the Lions. It might come down to who controls the boards as to which team advances.
