Bird walks start April 14
Continuing a Greater Cleveland tradition since 1933, the Annual Spring Bird Walk Series returns for six walks throughout April and May in the Geauga Park District.
Located where there is the best bet for birds at each particular stage in migration, these walks connect experienced bird watchers with novices of all ages for bird observation, identification and interpretation, according to a news release.
All are Sundays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and among the naturalist staff’s Nature’s Not to Be Missed opportunities. They will take place April 14 at Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve in Burton, April 21 at Frohring Meadows in Bainbridge Township, April 28 at The Rookery in Chester Township, May 5 at Eldon Russell Park in Burton, May 12 at Big Creek Park in ChardonTownship, and May 19 at Swine Creek Reservation in Middlefield Township.
Those interested in taking part can just show up dressed for the weather with their bird guide and/or binoculars, if they have a pair, the release stated. No registration required.
