Athletes of the week Alexis Black KENSTON>>GIRLS LACROSSE SENIOR>>ATTACK

On the field: Against West Geauga, had six goals, one assist, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Against Orange, had six goals, one assist, one ground ball, one caused turnover and one draw control. Against Walsh Jesuit, had one goal, one assist, one ground ball, one draw control. All performanc­es came after she was hit in the face with a ball. She had to leave the field with a bloody nose, which is most likely broken. She changed jerseys and returned to the game. Off the pitch: “Lexi” will attend Miami University. “My favorite lacrosse sports memories are team dinners and scoring my 100th career goal.” Played varsity basketball for four years. Loves to walk her dogs and hang out with her friends. Favorite pregame meal is Jersey Mike’s and Starbucks. Enjoys the music of Morgan Wallen.

On the track: At the Medina Tom Fasko Relays, had the best individual shot put throw of 52-6and second-best in discus of 137-10. Won shot put and was second in discus the prior week at the Bill Dodd

Off the track: “BigTone” will play football at Tarleton State. “I am a big weight room guy so I love to lift weights. I also love studying animals in their natural habitats.”

On the diamond: Went 7-for-15 with four singles, two doubles, a grand slam and 10 RBI.

Off the diamond: Waite Hill resident enjoys skiing, wake surfing, playing pool with friends and playing golf in the summer. Favorite high school memory is beating Hudson in the district championsh­ip game his sophomore year. Enjoys watching college baseball and rooting for all Ohio teams, especially the Browns and Guardians. Has always loved math and science.

On the diamond: In seven games, went 11-for-21with two doubles, two triples, two home runs (including a grand slam), 12runs and 10RBI, along with four steals. Off the diamond: “Ari” says her favorite sports memory is hitting her first home run. Hobbies include playing softball and volleyball.

Off the diamond: “Maddi” lists pink as her favorite color. Favorite food is meatballs. Favorite show is “Dance Moms.” Enjoys the music of Morgan Wallen. Favorite subject is math. Favorite team is the Oregon Ducks. Favorite sports memory is going to Myrtle Beach.

Brayden Richards PERRY>>BOYS TRACK AND FIELD SENIOR>>POLE VAULT, HURDLES, JUMPS

On the track: At the Ned Weingart Relays, won 110hurdles (14.70), pole vault (15-0) and 300 hurdles (39.01). Earlier this season, at a meet in South Carolina, broke the school record in 110 hurdles with a 14.44, beating his brother Javin’s prior school standard.

Off the track: Will attend the Air Force Academy and join the track and field team. “My favorite sports memories are winning a state title in the 300-meter hurdles, scoring 7,000 points in a decathlon, and winning a football state championsh­ip.” Hobbies include football, basketball, track and field and golf. His unique talent is juggling. Favorite subject is math. Favorite food is steak. Has worked as a lifeguard the past three summers.

Megan Sullivan RIVERSIDE>>GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD JUNIOR>>DISTANCES

On the track: At the Ned Weingart Relays, was third in 3,200 (11:49.32) and ran on the third-place distance medley (14:13.20).

Off the track: Plans on running cross country and track in college. Favorite track memory is when the boys and girls teams won the conference meet on their home track. Loves biology and has a passion for neuroscien­ce.

John Young RIVERSIDE>>BOYS TRACK AND FIELD SENIOR>>DISTANCES

On the track: At the Ned Weingart Relays, won 1,600with a 4:33.81and ran the 800leg on the victorious distance medley (11:22.01).

Off the track: Plans on running cross country and track in college. Favorite sports memories are going to Ohiopyle with the cross country team over the summer and overnight indoor track trips. Also enjoys the outdoors and fishing and camping. Favorite show is “The Office” and favorite movie is “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Favorite teams are the Guardians and Steelers.
