Alexander Trolio, 85, a longtime resident of McDaniel Heights, Wilmington, died on November 9, 2023.

One of 6 children of Cesare and Elisa Trolio, he was born on October 11, 1938 in Dennison, Ohio and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Dennison. Alex was honorably discharged in 1963 from his service in the United States Air Force after being stationed in Bermuda, and ultimately Dover, DE where he met his wife, Joan Dorso. He began his working career at Esskay, Inc. then enjoyed a long and successful career in sales of men’s clothing. Alex worked at Jack Lang Clothiers, Murray’s, and ultimately retired from JoS. A. Bank where he won many top sales awards. Always nattily dressed himself, Alex had a great personalit­y with a knack for knowing his customers’ tastes and preference­s, and a talent for impeccably fitting any suit – all of which earned him a loyal customer following.

Alex enjoyed being with his family and is survived by his 3 children: Michael A. Trolio, Lisa M. Brennan, and David P. Trolio ( Jennifer); 4 grandchild­ren: Stephen M. Trolio, Sarah M. Brennan, Anna M. Trolio, and Spencer A. Trolio; and his brother, Henry P. Trolio (Marina). Alex was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Joan (whom he always called Joanie), his daughterin-law, Susan D. Trolio; and 4 siblings: Rudolph, William, Helen, and Gilda Trolio.

A visitation will be held at Alex and Joan’s longtime parish, St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Concord Pike and Sharpley Road, on Wednesday, November 22, beginning at 10am, with a eulogy to begin at 10:50, and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons are suggested to The Lorelton Foundation, 2200 W. 4th St., Wilmington, DE 19805. Funeral arrangemen­ts by McCrery & Harra.
