Phillies honor Kelce, Cox with first-pitch honors

- Greg Giesen

Former Philadelphia Eagles players Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox are taking the field again ... kind of.

Jason Kelce announced on the “New Heights” podcast that he co-hosts with his brother, Travis, that he and Cox will throw out the first pitch Saturday when the Philadelphia Phillies face the Atlanta Braves. The game starts at 4:05 p.m.

“Dude, I’m throwing out a pitch. Me and Fletcher Cox so we’ll see how it goes,” Jason said on the podcast. “My elbow doesn’t work anymore so I think Cox will have to do it.”

What else is going on at Citizens Bank Park?

Along with Kelce and Cox showing up for the first pitch on Saturday, other events are coming during the first homestand.

● On Saturday, fans 15 and older will receive a “The Fightins” T-shirt, and a block party will be held at the Budweiser Batters Eye Bar.

● On Easter Sunday, fans will receive a 2024 schedule magnet.

● On Tuesday, when the Phillies host the Cincinnati Reds, it’s Hatfield Phillies Franks BOGO Night. Fans can purchase two hot dogs for the price of one. The promotion replaces the Dollar Dog Night.
