Charles Ehrhart White

Charles Ehrhart White died peace­fully at home on De­cem­ber 3. Son of the late Allen Au­gus­tus White and Irma Wom­mack White, he was a na­tive of Scot­land Neck. Char­lie is sur­vived by his wife, Lee Har­risonWhite and son Charles E. White, Jr. He is also sur­vived by his sis­ters, Mary El­iza Davis and Laura White, his brother Allen Au­gus­tus White, Jr. (Glenda), sis­ter-in- law Jeanie, many ador­ing nieces, neph­ews and cousins, and a spe­cial friend, Ch­eryl Lewis. He is pre­de­ceased by his brother, Spencer Wom­mack White.

Char­lie grad­u­ated from Scot­land Neck High School and from N. C. Wes­leyan Col­lege.

He was a Viet­nam Vet­eran serv­ing as a for­ward ob­server with the 1st Bat­tal­ion, 16th In­fantry, 1st In­fantry, Divi­sion.

Char­lie worked for many years for Cen­tral Carolina Bank. Upon leav­ing the bank, he uti­lized his many tal­ents by help­ing nu­mer­ous peo­ple with home re­pairs and fur­ni­ture restora­tion.

He was a mem­ber of the North Raleigh Ro­tary Club for over 30 years. He en­joyed his time in Ro­tary and had the honor of be­ing a Paul Har­ris Fel­low.

Char­lie was a kind, sweet, gen­er­ous man. He adored his fam­ily and was a good friend to many. He had an in­fec­tious laugh and a great sense of hu­mor. He will be sorely missed by those who loved him.

There will be a Cel­e­bra­tion of Life Ser­vice in the Spring at Toad Hall in the Syl­van Heights Bird Park in Scot­land Neck.
