INFO SESSION TO BE HELD ON STREETSCAPE

- Jperkins@newstimes.com

Residents can learn more about the second phase of the Town Center revitalization project at an information session on Wednesday.

The town late last year completed the first phase of a streetscape project at the intersection colloquially known as the “Four Corners.”

Sidewalks, street lamps, parking and other amenities were added from the intersection of Federal and Station roads south to the Brookfield Funeral Home, north to Agora Restaurant, west to the edge of the Mobil station and east to the Brookfield Craft Center.

The second phase will connect the Still River Greenway to the southern end of the first phase, as well as add an extension to the north property line at Agora Restaurant. Sidewalks, a bike path, lighting and more will be added.

Construction is expected to cost almost $1.2 million, with the Federal Highway Administration paying for $740,000 and the town paying for $450,000. The total project will cost about $2 million when utility relocation, right-of-way acquisition, design and other costs are added.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Room 133 of Town Hall.
