Robert F. Simoes

-

It is with unspeakable sadness that the family of Robert Francis Simoes (known by his family and friends as “Bob”, “Bobby”, or “Chico”) announces his passing, on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the age of 77 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Rose (Gaudioso) Simoes and his sister Jacqueline Unger. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted companion of 29 years, Eileen (Tofte) Patton, his children Sherri Zak, Lisa Simoes, and Chris (Leslie) Simoes, his five “step” children, Lisa, James, Jeffrey, Bryan and Robert Patton, his sister Sandra (Richard) Werdann, seven nieces and nephews, eighteen grandchildren and an endless number of additional family and friends.

Robert was the President of the Danbury Industrial Softball League for many years. He enjoyed his time as a starter at Richter Park Golf Course, was an avid golfer, bowler and softball player, he owned Custom Electronics, attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Danbury High School in 1959.

For the last 13 years, he resided in The Villages, FL, where he was a member of St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church and he belonged to a number of social clubs, especially Valdosta Social Club. With declining health, he became an avid Free Cell player, and enjoyed friend’s visits, sharing stories, and playing the game, Aggravation.

He loved his family more than anything. He shared a special handshake with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, which will carry on for generations. He ended every phone call and voicemail the same way and we can all hear him now saying: “See ya later, bye”.

May You Rest In Peace. Friends will be received in The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 5p.m. to 8p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Robert to the Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches, PO Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064
