Newtown broker enjoys helping people, giving excellent customer service
Jill Wolowitz enjoys putting people together with great houses.
A Realtor since 1990, Wolowitz, who has a long list of certifications, became a broker in 1995. She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in psychology from Boston University and graduate credits from Teachers Collage of Columbia University.
Prior to launching her real estate career, Wolowitz worked various jobs, including in health insurance and psychology.
“Until I got my real estate license, I didn’t have anything that I looked at as a career,” she said. “I just had jobs, but this was the first time I had a career.”
When she was moving from New York to Connecticut, she realized she had an interest in real estate.
“My kids were at an age where they were both going to be in school and I was ready to start something in the way of a career, and it was just a natural interest,” she said.
Among the things Wolowitz enjoys about real estate is helping people.
“I find it very satisfying to help people and certainly very rewarding,” she said. “You put somebody together with a great house that they love and it’s a great feeling.”
Being focused on real estate full time, giving excellent customer service and sticking to Berkshire Hathaway’s core values gives her an edge.
“I follow the rules, I’m proud of that,” she said. “I believe in being very authentic. I love the company I work for, we have core values and among them is authenticity.”
In working with buyers, Wolowitz, who primarily serves Newtown and the surrounding communities with an emphasis on listings, very carefully lists their wants and needs and works to expose them to what they are looking for without being pushy.
“People tell me that they like that I’m not a pushy Realtor,” she said. “They need to not feel pressured but feel that I’m there for them, that I have their best interests at heart.”
