This is the day we are grateful for the man who keeps a few tools in the garage to stop a leak or fix that window.

The dad who packs lunches and waits at the bus stop and waves.

The guy who cleans the pool and keeps the floats full of air.

Our man who puts out the patio furniture and umbrella and keeps the grill ready willing and able.

The dad who hangs the flag and keeps the lawn trimmed and green.

You know that guy who waters the flowers, tends the garden and can put together a pretty great salad.

The dad who works the microwave like no other, gets a quick load of wash done before driving someone somewhere for something.

The guy who walks the dog. The dad who drives an hour each way to work and after being gone for 10 or 11 hours still walks in with a smile.

The man who paints one side of the house every year.

Replaces the mailbox after it was taken out by the plow.

The dad who doesn’t mind turning around and going out to pick up pizza because Plan A didn’t work out.

The dad who will pick you up at 3 a.m. no questions asked.

The guy who works an extra job to get those kids what they need.

The man who loves to binge watch Netflix with you.

The dad who can play endless hours of gin rummy, or badminton, or toss across.

The guy who listens.

The one who leads by example. Somehow he can figure out what that noise is the furnace makes at 4 a.m. and can start a generator.

The dad who gives you a call in the bottom of the 9th hoping there’s a chance you can watch too.

To the many, many, many different style of dads out there who make our house, condo or apartment equal home.

Happy Father’s Day.
