DAWS EARNS GRANT
The Danbury Animal Welfare Society has received a $1,000 grant to send a volunteer to a session that will focus on improving life for shelter dogs.
The grant comes from the Petfinder Foundation’s Dogs Playing for Life Mentorship Program.
The grant covers tuition for one person from the Petfinder member’s organization to attend a Dogs Playing for Life Mentorship session. These sessions focus on teaching volunteers how to lead safe play groups for dogs and how to improve their skills as trainers, according to Petfinder’s website.
The Petfinder Foundation helps animal shelters find homes for their pets and has provided more than $20 million in cash and grants to shelters and rescue groups.
