Stu­dents who rely on school for food will be able to get bl­iz­zard and break bags from Camella’s Cup­board, a new group ded­i­cated to pro­vid­ing food to stu­dents.

The group will pro­vide sup­ple­men­tal food bags for chil­dren who are food in­se­cure in New Mil­ford or Sher­man when there is in­clement weather and school breaks of two or more days. Fam­i­lies can sign up on­line through camel­las­cup­ Sign up is al­ways open. All in­for­ma­tion will be kept con­fi­den­tial.

Sched­uled school breaks in­clude Thanks­giv­ing break from Nov. 21 to 23, hol­i­day re­cess which runs from Dec. 24 to Jan. 1, win­ter re­cess on Feb. 18 and 19 and spring break April 15 to 19.

Pick up dates will be emailed to fam­i­lies signed up to re­ceive bags. All pick­ups will be at New Mil­ford Pub­lic Schools Ad­min­is­tra­tion Of­fices, 50 East St.

Par­tic­i­pants are asked to note if trans­porta­tion is a bar­rier for pick­ing up food.
