TOWN TO SET DATE FOR BLIGHT ORDINANCE VOTE

New Fairfield leaders will host a town meeting Wednesday night to set the date for a machine vote on the proposed blight ordinance.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center Community Room. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available online at www. newfairfield.org.

This is the fourth attempt to institute a blight ordinance in the town and town officials have argued the latest proposal has incorporated residents' concerns. The proposal includes a definition of blighted premises, creates a Blight Prevention Board to consider complaints and establishes procedures to remediate blighted properties.
