MUSEUM CLOSED FOR HOUSEKEEPING

There will be no public tours of the New Milford Historical Society and Museum during January and February for house keeping.

The curator and volunteers will spend that time reorganizing and inventorying the hat and shoe collection. The goal of the project is to properly clean, catalog and rehouse the collection to create better access and promote preservation according to the professional curatorial standards.

Researchers can still make an appointment to use the archives by calling the museum during regular business hours. The museum will reopen to the public with its normal hours on March 5.

“The trustees and staff thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding during this temporary closing,” according to a news release.
