Bethel firefighters rescue kitten from storm drain
BETHEL — A fire lieutenant managed to coax a kitten out of a storm drain Friday night, fire officials said Saturday.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Stony Hill volunteer firefighters were notified of a kitten stuck in a storm drain.
Officials said firefighters had to get the “stubborn” grate removed before a fire lieutenant — who officials said is an “avid cat owner” — went into the catch basin to try to reach the kitten.
Using his own bag of cat treats, the lieutenant coaxed the kitten out.
The cat was uninjured and returned to its owners, officials said.
