Raymond F. FitzGerald “Ray Fitz” passed away unexpected­ly on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Ray was the son of Irene (Miller) FitzGerald of Southbury, CT and the late Robert “Bobby” FitzGerald. He was born in Bronxville, NY on September 6, 1967. He was raised in CT and graduated from New Fairfield High School in 1985.

He applied his strong work ethic to his successful career as proprietor of a commercial paint and wallpaper company.

Ray had many passions in life. Above all, he loved his family and friends. He enjoyed working in the yard, travel, scuba diving, and he appreciate­d and enjoyed good food. He was most happy enjoying a Yankees game with his family or in the ocean exploring sunken ships and beautiful coral reefs.

Ray’s presence positively affected those who encountere­d him. He was generous with his time and resources. He will be remembered for his genuinely warm smile and contagious laughter.

Ray leaves behind his wife, Sara. His daughters: Krisa and Alexa. He is also survived by loving in-laws, Mark and Joy Gutis. His special friends: Susan and Jerry Selese. A brother, a sister, seven nieces and nephews, several cousins, and countless friends also survive.

Calling hours are on from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday June 28, 2018 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday June 29, 2018 at the Green Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

A celebratio­n of his life will follow at his home in Brookfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
