Kenneth C. Reed, III, 58, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away at home on Sunday, June 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Elizabeth Drab Reed, and two devoted daughters, Ellie Grace and Anna Elizabeth.

Ken was born on May 12, 1960, in Stamford, Connecticu­t, to his cherished parents, Kenneth C. Reed, Jr., and Gloria Summa Reed, and was raised in Ridgefield, Connecticu­t. Ken was their eldest child, and is survived by two dedicated sisters, Deborah Ann Pizzo, husband Charles, children Nicholas and Monica of Brookfield, Connecticu­t, and Janice Lynn Heizler, husband Mark, and sons Steven and Kevin of Lawrencevi­lle, Georgia.

Ken was a graduate of Quinnipiac University, earning double majors in Accounting and Informatio­n Sciences. He proudly earned an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of Connecticu­t. Ken had a successful career at Burroughs, Unisys, StorageTek, Sun Microsyste­ms, and Oracle Corporatio­ns as a well-respected, knowledgea­ble Product Specialist, receiving many accolades for his contributi­ons to marketing, sales, and customer service. He was also a proud new member of the Sons of the American Revolution, having descended from many patriot forefather­s dating back to 1635. Ken had a life-long passion for music and guitar-playing. He played in many bands, enjoying years of fun gigs and charitable events. His enthusiast­ic love of playing, coaching, and watching sports included being an avid fan of the NY Yankees, the NY Giants, the Georgia Bulldogs and his daughters’ softball, swim, tennis, and cheerleadi­ng teams, which gave him great satisfacti­on.

Ken touched many lives with his inspiring and dedicated faith, strength, discipline, and amazingly positive outlook during his seven-year battle with cancer. Ken leaves behind many family and friends to mourn his loss.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield. Contributi­ons in Ken’s memory may be made to the Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center or the Ridgefield Historical Society.
