Eleanor Sandvik

Dec. 31, 1936 - Nov. 1, 2018 Mrs. Eleanor A. Sandvik, 81, of Beech Island, SC and a former resident of New Fairfield, CT, wife of the late Mr. Jan Sandvik, entered into rest, in the comfort of the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Anne Sandvik.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and a former longtime resident of New Fairfield, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Rita Doyle Pedersen. Eleanor and John loved to travel, especially to St. Thomas. She also loved to shop...especially bargain shopping!!! When she became a resident of Beech Island, she enjoyed attending Breezy Hill Baptist Church.

Additional family members include her children and their spouses, Joan and Steven Roinestad, John and Anne Sandvik, David and Nancy Sandvik, Steven and Kelly Sandvik and Nancy Yassin; grandchildren, Johnny, Annette, Glenn, Anita, Jeffrey, Stephen, Lisa, Joy, David Jr., Nicholas, Luke, Nicole, Katelyn, Megan, Ryan, Sammy, Ronny and Alex; and greatgrandchildren, Betina, Brooklyn, Brinkley, Brayden, Braxton, Ali, Emi, Brett, Lydia, Realynn and Elliott.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 6 o’clock at Breezy Hill Baptist Church, Graniteville, SC. Pastor Phillip Napier will officiate. In accordance with her wishes, Eleanor will be cremated and laid to rest next to her husband in Connecticut.
