Getting clients the best deal
ARealtor since 2000, Posie Morgan has a bachelor’s degree in studio arts from the University of Vermont. Until 1992, she was an account executive for News America selling packaged goods to companies. After that, she worked for Coinstar.
Those experiences taught her skills in communication, negotiations and working with a variety of people.
After moving to Connecticut, she decided she wanted a smaller coverage area and transitioned to real estate with a primary focus on a 20-mile radius of Ridgefield.
Being hard working, responsive, engaging and non-confrontational sets her apart.
“When I do negotiations it’s basically trying to be non-confrontational, trying to make it a smooth process and not an angry process and not trying to win,” she said. “Everybody should give, give to make the deal happy.”
When working with buyers, Morgan encourages them to see what’s out there.
“I think to me it’s basically seeing as many properties as possible so they’re an educated buyer,” she said. “To me. the more that they see. the better.”
When they decide to make an offer, Morgan gives them information on other properties that have sold on the street.
With sellers, Morgan relies on her marketing background, puts ads in the New York Times and on social media.
“I think the most important thing is having the best pictures and professional photographs so that when you list it, if you have a blue sky photo [you use it],” she said. “You present the house in the best Business: Coldwell Banker

possible light.”
She also manages their expectations, educating them on the fact that it’s a buyer’s market right now.
The most rewarding part of her career is the continuing friendships she makes, having happy buyers and sellers and working with a supportive network of Realtors.
Morgan is married with two children, one who is in college and one who is a senior in high school. She enjoys being outdoors and hiking with her dog.
Amember of the Ridgefield Board of Realtors, she helps with fundraisers for the Redding Foodbank and Salvation Army.
