James ‘Jimmy’ Gallagher, a life-long resident of Danbury, CT, died unexpected­ly on November 22nd, 2018 at the young age of 69, after enjoying a wonderful Thanksgivi­ng holiday with his family.

Jim is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Lucas) Gallagher; his wife, Kathy Gallagher (Thomas); and his step-daughter, Michelle Cattuti (David Williams); his niece, Dawn Ellis, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to mention.

He is predecease­d by his father, James E. Gallagher, Sr., brother, Kevin Gallagher; his maternal grandparen­ts Anna and William Lucas, and his paternal grandparen­ts Helen and Leo Gallagher.

Jim was born in Danbury on June 9, 1949 to Dorothy Lucas and James E. Gallagher, Sr. He graduated from Danbury High School, and prior to his retirement was a self-employed contractor. On April 17th, 2000 he married the love of his life Kathy, who was introduced to him through her daughter Michelle, and then became his daughter and one of his best friends.

Jim was an avid golfer who took his game very seriously as his friends will attest. He was the most content on a golf course or driving range, hitting balls for hours. Jim also enjoyed endless hours driving his car through the countrysid­e, enjoying the sights along the way. He was a devoted son who cared for his mother and was always there to help anyone in need. Jim had a huge heart and will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Interment will be private.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at the Green Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in Jim’s memory may be made to the animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
