Daniel T. Sullivan, 70, of Putnam Lake, Brewster, NY, passed away peacefully at Putnam Community Hospital on November 21, 2018. He was born in The Bronx, NY on February 16, 1948 to the late Hannah (Cremin) and William Sullivan.

Danny attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine Elementary School and went on to graduate from All Hollows High School in The Bronx. In adulthood, he worked in Manhattan and The Bronx as a telephone repairman for AT&T and Verizon. In 2003, he concluded a 30 year career with these companies, and retired to Putnam Lake.

An avid reader and skilled conversati­onalist on many subjects, he was a faithful friend with of a group of Verizon retirees who met for lunch on the last Friday of each month in Bronxville as well as his fellow rehab buddies at the Cardio Rehabilita­tion Unit at Danbury Hospital. Danny’s concern for others was evident in his steady and varied forms of volunteer work. Three times a week, beginning at 6 a.m., he helped others at the Cardio Rehabilita­tion Unit at Danbury Hospital. In addition, he volunteere­d at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. For many years, he also worked at the annual Christmas celebratio­n for Hour Children in Queens.

Danny will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends. He was a beloved uncle whose sense of humor delighted 15 nieces and nephews, 28 great nieces and nephews, and one great-grandniece. He is survived by his sister Mary Mulkeen of Waldwick, NJ; Thomas Sullivan of Garnervill­e, NY; JoAnn Sullivan of Ridgefield, CT; and Kathleen (John) Civetta of Brewster, NY. He was predecease­d by his brother Bill of Saugerties, NY.

Friends and family may call from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 29 at Beecher Funeral Home, One Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on November 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 31 Prospect Street, Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Route 22. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to Brewster Public Library, 79 Main Street, Brewster, NY 10509.
