An organized patient listener
ARealtor since 2002, Antonia Riordan has a Bachelor of Science in sociology with a minor in criminal justice from Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to real estate, she worked in accounts receivable for 23 years with Redniss & Mead, Land Surveyors, Engineers and Planners. She was also in catering and was a wedding planner and event coordinator.
Through those experiences she honed skills in dealing with people, organization and scheduling.
She strives to help her clients see the bright side of things even when situations don’t play out as they hope.
“I’m always about if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be,” she said. “It’ll all work out and come together.”
Patience, caring and being a good listener set her apart.
Riordan, who primarily serves Fairfield and New Haven counties, is partnered with John Chopourian. The partnership means one of the two is always available for clients.
“We know we’re covered, we keep each other in check,” Riordan said.
When working with buyers, she finds out if they are familiar with the process and what they know about the community where they are looking.
“It’s a matter of educating your buyers and really knowing what they want,” she said.
When looking at homes, she guides them to also look at the property and setting to make sure the location and yard suit their lifestyle.

With sellers, she asks about their goals and next steps to determine their timeline and level of attachment to the home. “There’s a lot of emotion,” she said. She makes sure to price the home right so they can move on to the next stage in life.
Riordan is married with three step-children and nine grandchildren. She and her husband own a dairy farm in Shaftsbury, Vermont.
Riordan is incoming president of the Ridgefield Board of Realtors, a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors, secretary of the Ridgefield Lion’s Club and on the board of directors of Lounsbury House in Ridgefield.
