A‘hard working, kind’ Realtor
ARealtor since 2003, Tammi Ligour studied restaurant management at Mattatuck Community College. Prior to real estate, she managed at Old Sorrento in Danbury for 13 years. Through those experiences, she honed organizational and people skills and acquired her work ethic.
“I’m hard working, kind, enthusiastic and it’s just fun,” she said of working in restaurants and real estate.
With a love for both jobs, she still works part-time at Deer Street Restaurant in Newtown
After a car accident left her unable to waitress for a time, Ligour went into real estate. She primarily serves Fairfield and New Haven counties.
When working with buyers, she finds the best deal possible, encouraging folks to consider bank-owned properties or fixer uppers that will ultimately give them more equity. She breaks down what they’re payments will be and how some projects will improve the property and suggests getting family and friends on board to lend a hand.
“It’ll be a dream house that you can stay in 10 or 15 years with a lower mortgage payment,” she said.
When working with sellers, she advises staging and decluttering.
“The most important thing is staging,” she said “It’s the first impression that’s key … inside, outside, landscaping, you have to be able invest in the pictures and staging.”
Ligour’s sister-in-law is a professional photographer and comes to new listings along with stagers.
“I bring in the people, the team, to bring
[the house] where it has to be to sell it,” Ligour said.
Ligour enjoys putting her all into finding people their dream house and then finishing the deal.
“Just the sale of it [is rewarding], the buyers moving in and knowing that I made their dream come true,” she said.
In May, she will have been married 20 years. She has two daughters and an identical twin.
Ligour was involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters, in Danbury, and still meets weekly with her Little Sister, a 25-year-old woman she has known since she was seven.
Ligour also enjoys reading and staying connected with friends and family.
