Katherine Aline Kapler, “Kate” of Danbury, CT died in the loving care of her family at Danbury Hospital on December 28, 2018, at the age of 62.

Kate is survived by her wife & best friend, Nancy Hall of Danbury, CT; her sister Sue Gagliardi and husband Dan of Coventry, CT; Brother Jeff and wife Dorothy of College Station, TX; Brother Rik of Provinceto­wn, MA; In-Laws Jim and Stefania Hall, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.

Kate was raised in Hartford CT by her loving, supportive parents, Mary & Gus Kapler with help from her Nonna, Catherina Maffiolini, and Uncle Joe. She attended St. Augustine’s Elementary and South Catholic High in Hartford, where she was active in track and field, basketball, and fife and drum.

Kate continued her education at Becker College in Worcester, MA. for her Associate Degree to become an Assistant Physical Therapist followed by decades of work with children and adults. She also obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communicat­ion and Graphic Arts at the University of Hartford followed by 5 years at Pratt and Whitney. Some favorite pastimes with friends and family included listening to R&B, Soul, Blues, movies, softball, hiking, swimming and camping. Throughout her life, Kate was verse in her culinary skills, interior design and gardening. She recently enjoyed traveling with her wife to Iceland and Norway. She will be remembered for her compassion­ate nature.

The family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division Street in Danbury, CT on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. with a “Circle of Remembranc­e” at 3:30 p.m.
