Sophistication, beauty and a superb open concept floor plan are the hallmarks of this stately colonial.

“This home is an elegant colonial on private lot surrounded by mature trees,” said Kristie Perry, Realtor with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s Northern Fairfield County Brokerage.

Built in 2012, the 4,126-squarefoot, four-bedroom home is located on 1.89 level acres at 24 Pearl St., a desirable neighborhood in Newtown.

“The neighborhood is perfect, close to downtown Sandy Hook Village, with excellent restaurants, shopping, and a convenient location to I-84,” Perry said.

The home has oak hardwood floors, 9-foot ceilings and crown molding throughout the main level. The foyer is attractively detailed with a soft yellow color palette and white trim.

“This space is light, bright, and welcoming with a butterfly split staircase leading to the upper level,” Perry said.

Astately dining room is open to the foyer and dining room. This formal space is detailed with white trim and panel molding, a neutral beige palette and a tray ceiling. Windows bring in bright welcoming sunlight.

“There is plenty of room for hosting, with enough room for a large table of eight to twelve guests,” she said.

Cook like a professional chef in your own gourmet, open concept, eat-in kitchen.

“This kitchen is fantastic. It’s an entertainer’s dream kitchen,” Perry said.

This exciting space has a huge center island with seating, granite countertops, recessed and pendant lighting, an abundance of maple cabinetry, a stainless steel sink with tiled backsplash, windows, and a 5-by-8-foot walk-in pantry providing excellent storage.

GE stainless steel appliances include a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave and a sixburner gas stove. The kitchen is open to a casual dining area that’s sited near glass sliders that open to an oversized, newly-painted deck and provide views of the immaculately landscaped backyard.

Open to the kitchen is a warm and inviting family room that has a gas fireplace with a marble front and hearth and classic white mantel.

“It’s a large room, perfect for accommodating a crowd for movie night to cozy up to the fireplace,” Perry said.

The room is detailed with white trim, a continuation of the yellow palette, windows and a ceiling fan. Aseparate set of French doors also open to the large deck. Pocket doors offer access to an additional room currently being used as a home office/den.

“It would also be a perfect playroom for young children, a great in-home yoga/fitness room, or a wonderful craft space that could be easily closed off,” she said.

French doors open to a formal living room that has white trim, a soft sage color palette, and windows. “It’s a cozy and elegant space,” Perry said. A half bathroom with a pedestal sink, a tile floor, a soft gray palette and a window completes the main level.

The split, neutral-carpeted staircase offers access to the kitchen and upper level. A cozy sitting area/nook with a huge window greets you at the top of the stairs.

“The master bedroom suite is a private oasis with attention to detail and a calming color palette where you can enjoy a restful night’s sleep,” Perry said.

The room features oak hardwood floors, a tray ceiling, two large walk-in closets and a ceiling fan. Windows offer views of the property. The spa-like master bathroom has a soaking tub, a double vanity with granite countertops, a tiled shower with glass door and a private water closet.

There are two additional bedrooms, all have wall-to-wall carpeting, white trim, a ceiling fan, ample-sized windows and closets. They share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a double vanity, granite countertops and a tiled shower and floor. A third guest bedroom also has wall-to-wall carpet and a ceiling fan. A convenient hall bathroom features double vanities and a private shower and water closet.

The lower level features a fullyfinished, carpeted, walk-out recreation/play room. The room has high ceilings, white columns, recessed lighting, large windows and has direct access to the pool and garage.

Additional amenities include a separate laundry room with a window and shelving, central air conditioning, a security system, an attic with pull-down stairs, a three-car attached garage, a tiled entrance and a large storage area.

“The yard is perfection. The home is set back from the road offering a lovely front yard with curb appeal,” Perry said.

The property is immaculately landscaped with stone seating, perennial plantings and a white privacy fence surrounding the level yard.

An oversized wood deck is ideal for entertaining with stairs from the deck leading to a Nejame custom built pool. Securely surrounded by a black wrought iron fence and a stamped concrete patio, the pool offers tons of fun and relaxation.

“The pool is heated so you can extend the season, and the lighting changes color, making it a fun, entertaining space,” Perry said. “This home has it all. It encompasses all the bells and whistles you’re expecting and deserve. It’s the perfect stay-cation destination.”

The home is offered at $584,000. To view the virtual tour, visit www.WilliamPitt.com, MLS#: 170171757.
