- Susanne Prial

ARealtor since 2004, Susanne Prial has a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College with a double major in political science and German. Prior to real estate, she worked in international banking.

After staying home to raise her children, she made a career in real estate.

“Real estate was something I used to do with my father,” she said. “I used to go walking on the beach and talk to builders and look at houses with my dad, it was a good memory.”

As a mom, she learned patience and thinking on her feet.

“When you’re a parent, you’re always thrust into situations where you may be learning as you’re going and you have to be able to think reasonably and logically,” she said. “You can’t use a pat formula.”

International banking taught her to be exact, diligent, to recheck her work and how to work with different types of people. Giving individual attention and the concierge experience clients deserve sets her apart.

When working with buyers, Prial, who primarily serves the greater Ridgefield and Danbury areas, begins with a consultation, in which she goes over the steps. She asks for a list of wants, needs and dreams, explains potential issues and runs through the process of getting a mortgage, what to expect during inspections and their expectations and timelines. Then she talks about the towns and cities and what clients are looking for in a community and their commuting needs.

With sellers, she establishes a rapport, provides information about the company and marketing services and strategizes about price and timelines.

To prepare the home for market, she advises decluttering and toning down rooms, and provides support about what to do with things they are removing.

“Sometimes it can be very emotional,” she said.

She makes sure they have a plan on what to do with pets, such as taking out the dog before tours and being careful not to let cats escape.

Prial is married with three grown children and two grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, reading and traveling and devoting time to her mother.
