‘Stay Well’ Embraced at The Residences at Quarry Walk

-

The proliferation of gyms, yoga studios, weight loss clinics, wellness magazines and the recent upending of the food pyramid underscores the general public’s increased desire to adopt a stay well lifestyle.

Oxford-based Haynes Development is taking the concept of healthy living to a new level with the introduction of The Residences at Quarry Walk, an environmentally friendly residential and retail community, developed in Oxford’s uniquely designated “Village Center.” Haynes’s cutting edge approach includes standard features found in each of the company’s projects, as well as amenities added in response to the Covid-19 outbreak. Haynes’s team pivoted quickly to incorporate health and stay well features into The Residences at Quarry Walk as a result of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

“Our focus is on making people’s lives better by providing a healthy living alternative. Incorporated into the design and construction of The Residences at Quarry Walk are a multitude of “stay well” concepts,” said Kathy Ekstrom, development manager of Quarry Walk.

Each of the 150 residences at Quarry Walk will feature a UV Light Purification HVAC System, which improves indoor air quality that kills airborne bacteria, odors and viruses. “In addition, our elevator is designed with an Air Purification System. Additionally, there are UV sterilization lamps in our Mail Center. These are just a few of the technologies that uniquely provide our residents an added layer of sanitization and disinfecting,” Ekstrom said.

“We are featuring touch-less faucets and lighting controls in our common areas and access controls for the comfort and peace of mind for our residents,” she said.

Haynes executives are also installing electric car charging stations at Quarry Walk.

“We’re thinking forward. We’re thinking about the features necessary now in this climate and in the future,” said Lisa Patterson, a project executive for Haynes Development.

Haynes’s design concept for Quarry Walk makes it a walkable community, for leisure, recreation, and convenience. It includes more than one mile of walking trails, a dog park, open spaces and a “downtown green” flanked by boutique-style retail storefronts. Quarry Walk offers more than 300,000 square feet of mixed retail, including a bank, grocery market with drive-thru pharmacy, and a large medical office building with a 24-7 emergency walk-in clinic. Griffin Healthcare provides primary care, diagnostic imaging (MRI, CAT scan and XRAY), physical therapy, and a Healthy Living demonstration kitchen where they offer live cooking classes.

Quarry Walk is uniquely positioned to meet the today’s challenges; in addition to take-out and delivery restaurants (which will accommodate dine-in customers eventually when social distancing mandates are eased), the restaurants at Quarry Walk have expansive outdoor patios and terraces for “al fresco” dining. One restaurant is also considering a rooftop dining experience.

“We always had plans for outdoor dining options; it just makes good sense. Who doesn’t want to sit outside on a patio or terrace and enjoy the fresh air,” said Ekstrom.

Currently, 52 luxury apartments are available for lease now and 24 spaciously designed penthouses are available for purchase, with occupancy for both in late July and August. Penthouses range in size from 1,111 to 1659 square feet. Penthouses and apartments are designed specifically to accommodate today’s active lifestyle for single individuals and couples, millennials and empty-nesters; offering single floor living that features one and two bedroom accommodations.

Haynes’s signature fireplaces, fire pits, outdoor grilling kitchens, artfully sculpted stonewalls and walking trails, provide a variety of outdoor enclaves for The Residences at Quarry Walk. Units feature a welcoming farmhouse-style sitting porch, and the veranda leads to The Residence’s private patio on the lower terraced level and grilling pavilion on the upper courtyard level.
