Sarah Marie Crowell, recent widow of Arthur G. Crowell, died May 18, 2020. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Art, in November 2019.

Sarah was born January 16,1935 in Danbury CT, to Ralph and Mary Mazza. She graduated from Danbury High School. She was raised with 8 siblings on Liberty Street in Danbury, known at the time as The Barbary Coast. She married Art Crowell Jr. at 19 and soon became a mother. Her vocation. She gave birth to 7 children, including a son Brian who died shortly after birth.

In addition to her husband and son, Brian, she was predeceased by her daughter, Darlene Crowell

She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Clark (David), Anita Francisco (Arthur), Sue Farrington (Tom); and 2 sons: Arthur Crowell and Dan Crowell (Lori Norcia). Her 4 grandchildren: Katrina Amundsen, Brett Herman, Iris Norcia-Crowell and Benjamin Norcia-Crowell. Her sister, Louise Villane (Bethel CT) and her brother, John Mazza (Stuart Florida), as well as many nieces and nephews.

She loved being a mother. She cherished being a wife to Art.

She enjoyed being a good friend to many. Sarah was a “Firecracker” when it came to issues close to her heart. She was a longtime member of the Bethel CT Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and leaves behind many friends there.

Sarah recently resided at Newtown Rehab and Healthcare Center with her husband until his death. We thank them immensely for the care they showed them both. Being as we weren’t allowed to visit our mom because of Covid19, it helped knowing she was cared for by our friends there.

Because of the current health concerns, a memorial service will be held at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
