A vote for reason regarding voter fraud

- Tom VanBenschoten is a Danbury resident.

So, whether I consider myself a Republican or Democratic or even Independent voter, shouldn’t I take the rational path, weigh the evidence presented and conclude the election of President Joe Biden was legitimate? Or, should I cling to a personal, unsubstantiated opinion (at all costs to Democracy) that Donald Trump really won and his refusal to honorably transition power be considered a patriotic act?

Can we please have a sober discussion among informed voters about the legitimate outcome of the 2020 presidential election? If I am correctly deciphering the balanced news reports and removing the biased and social media reports, were there not more than 65 lawsuits claiming irregularities in state vote counting thrown out for lack of evidence?

Did not the Supreme Court — one standing 6 to 3 in conservative opinions — reject all arguments to hear any appeal of those lower court dismissals? Has there been one substantiated shred of evidence to support the claim of massive fraud necessary to flip the declared results? Who has the 140,000 illegal votes claimed to have been cast in one county in Georgia? Can’t an independent commission review them (if they do exist)?

Would it have been even possible for the Democrats to engineer in stealth such a massive and coordinated usurpation of vote tallies to reverse the decisive Electoral College results, including those from many States run by elected Republican officials? If so, wouldn’t the Russians and Chinese cyber criminals envy, if not fear, our subversive propaganda prowess?

So, whether I consider myself a Republican or Democratic or even Independent voter, shouldn’t I take the rational path, weigh the evidence presented and conclude the election of President Joe Biden was legitimate? Or, should I cling to a personal, unsubstantiated opinion (at all costs to Democracy) that Donald Trump really won and his refusal to honorably transition power be considered a patriotic act?

If our politicians, whether out of naked fealty to an ex-president or aspirations of political contributions to sustain their offices, continue to reject the election outcome and destabilize belief in one of our foundational American principles, let them at their own peril. We, the voters, need to support Truth and move on to more pressing challenges facing our country.
