Veronica “Ella” Babyak Mazzucco, age 81, wife of Philip E. Mazzucco passed away unexpected­ly at home in Rupert, VT. Ella was born on February 4, 1941 daughter of the late Dimitri and Vera (Kissko) Babyak. She was a lifelong resident of Danbury until her retirement in Rupert, VT. She attended Danbury schools and was a majorette of the Hat Makers Drum Corp.

Ella and Phil built their 1st home where she raised her 8 children. During their marriage she assisted Phil in his many business ventures and later worked for her son Michael as an administra­tive assistant.

Ella was an amazing mother, dedicated wife, and an accomplish­ed bowler.

She was a devoted parishione­r of St. Gregory the Great Church and was a constant presence at St. Gregory the Great School where all her children attended.

Her greatest joy was raising her children and being a loving and influentia­l Grandma/Mimi to her 8 grandchild­ren. She gave unconditio­nal love to all she met, she was kindhearte­d and giving

Ella is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Philip, her children Thomas Mazzucco (Karen), Mary Mazzucco-Dobbins ( Joseph), Michael Mazzucco, Barbara Mazzucco, Ann Marie Mazzucco, Theresa Grube (Mark), Philip Mazzucco (Leslie) and Nancy Mazzucco-Usuff (Salim); her 8 grandchild­ren; her sister Carol Curesky ( Joseph) and sister-in-law Rosemaire Babyak; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family.

She was predecease­d by her brothers Richard and William and her sister Rita Babyak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, on Friday, April 29th at 11:00am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday between the hours of 4:00 – 7:00pm.
