Crumbl Cookies, a growing cookie brand that's enjoyed viral social media fame on TikTok, is planning a May 20 grand opening for its Danbury location. The store will open at 71 Newtown Road (Suite 5), joining a plaza where a UPS Store and Planet Pizza currently stand.

Franchise owners Justin Cinnamon and Scott Cinnamon are also opening a North Haven store, at 411 Universal Dr. N. They anticipate a mid-to-late June opening, they told Hearst Connecticut in April.

Connecticut's first Crumbl location opened in December at Manchester's The Plaza at Buckland Hills, offering its treats for takeout delivery and curbside pickup options. Cookies are served in a signature oblong pink box, with gourmet flavors that rotate weekly.

The company has 5.2 million followers on TikTok, where it showcases its flavors. Four or five options are offered each week, with current options like salted caramel cheesecake, peanut butter bar, chocolate potato chip, piña colada and pecan pie.

The Danbury location will have six flavors available during its grand opening week, including Crumbl's classic milk chocolate chip recipe, according to a news release. Cold milk can also be added to any order.

Crumbl Cookies was founded by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, who now serve as CEO and COO. Their first location opened in 2017 in Logan, Utah and only served fresh milk chocolate chip cookies for takeout and delivery. The brand now has more than 450 bakeries in 43 states, according to the website.

A franchisee is also planning to open a Crumbl in Fairfield's Black Rock Turnpike Shopping Center later this year. Linda Koletsos told Hearst Connecticut in March that she and her family hope to have the store open by June.
